Here goes... Abdominal pain,IBS symptoms, headaches, mood swings, anxiety, tiredness, insomnia, cravings, binging, joint pain, thigh pain, sinus congestion, sweating, breast tenderness, bloating, All this goes on for 3 weeks out of the month. I have short cycles so I only have one week a month symptom free.I just started on xanax, it helps with all symptoms except the headaches and cravings. I dont take more than 1 mg a day but I ake it about 10 days out the month with no fear of addiction.

you reminded me of more of my symptoms the bloating then water loss, the worsening of my mood disorders right before that come with no warning and increase my anxiety till I start and think aha that's why, the uneven cycles so I can never predict when it will come or no if it's late to the point I skip months every now and then entirely, the little bit of time - maybe a week - each month i am symptom free.

oh, honey! im so glad you created a side group. and im glad you named it pmdd hell...it is hell. Side effects for me are mainly just wanting to be dead, especially around the 20-26 day. i dont drink or use rec drugs, so i try yoga and blah blah blah, but you know the drill. i cry, cut my arms, eat a lot of chocolate and peanut butter, wish i had a studio apartment with a huge supply of treats, heating pads, xanax, and a flat screen with every possible chick flick i could ever want. a huge bathroom with a fab tub and trashy magazines galore. 2 weeks off every month and my husband rubbing my back saying its 'all good'. ooh. this is such a fun idea, maybe i will start fundraising. later. after a nap...;) oh, i forgot, there would be a seperate room with that acrade game 'whack a mole'...a huge punching bag, and a jumbo sized voodoo doll with lots of pins. yeee-haw.

Everything is horrible. I have fibromyalgia so all those symptoms are magnified. The worst part is the rages. I have dealt with this all my life but just in the last year narrowed it down to PMDD. I need anti depressants all the time but mixing it with my Tramadol for the fibro pain gives me serotonin syndrome. I have 2 weeks a month of wanting to die, hating everyone, hurting myself because I hate myself most of all. Bloating, tender swollen breast, anxiety, crying, you name it. It seems my life revolves around it! 2 wks PMDD, 3-7 days period, one good week. I know my husband is sick of it. Now everytime I get upset about something he makes some crack about pms or meds and that I a wacko. Sometimes that is true but often I have a right to be upset with and now he discounts everything to blame me. Of Course that makes it way worse!!! I tried Yaz for 7 months. 5 months were awesome, 2 were hell. Tried Lybrel for 2 months, gained 10 lbs, as a recovering anorexic this did not work! and I was a monster. Now I am trying Prozac 2 weeks out of the month. Last month it did seems to help some but I started feeling a little weird again. When I stopped taking it I felt Like I had been run over by a bus for 2 days but not like the big withdrawal I had when I got off of it after taking for 2 years. Good luck and God bless to all of you.

I feel like crap for the two weeks b4 my period starts. Crying, binging, anxiety from hell... then the period comes and I get back pain, unbearable cramps, bloating like never before, general weakness... on top of the PMDD though, I have endometriosis...so multiply the cramps by infinity! I do have clotting. My body had to go thru a kind of labor to pass one... it was atleast the size of my fist... atleast....

Well i was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder because of the pmdd symptoms, for 2 years! I get debilitating cramps, fits of rage, fits of crying, anxiety, restlessness- i can't sit still but i can't get anything accomplished either. I can't work, i just sit and stare at the computer at the office. i gain about 8 lbs of water weight. i'm exhausted and could sleep the entire week through. my symptoms start a week before my period and continues through my period until a few days after my last day. total...about 2 weeks for me too. my husband cannot stand me at this point. i flip out on him like a stranger on the street.

Starts with irritability. That increases to irrational rage. Then insomnia, paranoia, fatigue, depression. Finally, extreme fatigue & lethargy, constant crying, inability to do...anything. No energy. Feeling overwhelmed. Not quite suicidal, but want to die. Then as soon as my period starts, it all begins to lift. By the day after my period starts, I'm fine, and going: "What the hell was THAT?!?"

Put me down for all of the above pretty much. Good News! Been taking the Xanax and praying alot and it's working!! Didn't have ANY PMDD symptoms this month! Okay maybe slightly but it was 99% better!
