Prayers needed for Cheyenne, please

Posted on 06/20/09, 12:48 pm
I have a ten year old Golden Retriever named Cheyenne. About three or four weeks ago we found out that she has oral cancer. Very fast aggressive cancer as she had her teeth cleaned last October and there was no sign of it. The vet said it's inoperable as it would make her more uncomfortable to remove and it would come back. A friend introduced me to Apricot seeds as a "cure". I've been using them for the last five days. Anyway, please pray that Cheyenne does not feel pain and that I'm wise enough to recognize when the time to say goodbye will be. I'd really appreciate that.
God bless,
Carole

Carole, I first want to tell you that my 14 years old son is named Cheyenne. Good strong name and I will be praying for you and Cheyenne. Be strong for your little one because it is now that she needs you the most. I will be here to help you anyway.

Heavenly Father, we ask for your mercy that Cheyenne, which is your own, be not in pain. We ask that health be restored and sustained if it is your will so that they be allowed to stay with us a little longer here in this world, where she is needed.
We ask that if there is medical care needed, the way be provided. We ask that Cheyenne does not suffer needlessly. We ask for your compassion and grace that she be healed through your love, through your mercy and through the help of those here on earth, through whom your love comes forth.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, we ask these things not for ourselves, but for this small life that is so precious and carries the light of your love. Amen.

    Hi Carole,

First thank you for being there for me always. I am going to pray for Cheyenne, as you know my Rainey (9 years old) just died of cancer Feb. God showed me at least 10-12 other people whose dogs have all died of cancer at age 9-10. I want to tell you it is nothing you have done. You did not feed her wrong, or do anything wrong. There was a dog on TV that was a dock champion dog, jumping off the dock, catching the stick, and his name was Chase. He was 6 yrs old. He was with his owner all day long, in fit condition, loved what he was doing with the dock races, and he got oral cancer at age 6. This owner was heartbroken, (as I am, and I know how you are feeling). She found out that 1 out of 3 dogs get cancer. Her dog was 6. She started a foundation called Chasing K-9 cancer.. so do not ever ever feel guilt.

Now , I am going to pray. Dear blessed Lord, I pray for Cheyenne and Carole. I pray that Cheyenne not have pain, and that she be healed of this. If you decide you wish to take her home to be with Rainey, and the other dogs, please give Carole a peace, and a knowing that she gave a wonderful loving life to Cheyenne. I pray she will know the exact right time, and Cheyenne (as dogs are wiser than people) will be at peace. As Carole wants to feel comfortable with knowing if/when is the right time, I pray you show her this with clear signs as a burning bush. Cheyenne will not want to eat, and she will let Carole know when it is time in her special way. I pray that if there is a house call vet in her area, and Carole feels it is the right person, and it feels right, that she contact that vet now, so that if the time comes, Cheyenne might be able to be at home. If there is not a housecall vet, that is ok, she will be ok with it. I pray that you speak to Carole God, and show her she is not alone. I have just gone through this, and in fact I have just been praying for a loss support group just last night. I just saw my counselor yesterday, and her 10 yr old greyhound just died of cancer 5 days ago. Thank you dear Lord for showing me, so I can show Carole. But I do pray that if she can be healed that you will heal her. I pray you hold Carol and Cheyenne in your arms, and she can feel your love, and peace. Thank you for giving Cheyenne to Carole all these years, and for the unconditional love and adoration that Cheyenne has shown to Carole. Cheyenne appreciates her wonderful home and all the memories she has had with her caring owner/friend Carole. In the name of Jesus Christ, we thank you dear Lord, for loving us and being with Cheyenne and Carole during this time. Amen

Carole, you are not alone, I love you, I just know it, and we share a bond, I did not have this website, and was alone with Rainey. But have peace, it will be ok. Love Raindrop

I thank you both for your very touching prayers. They are very soothing. I pray for ultimate healing for Cheyenne, whether it be by God touching her and healing her here on earth or taking her to be with Him. I also pray for peace for me, because I know how very hard this is going to hit me.
Raindrop, you're a wonderful friend! Fancy meeting you here! :o)
    God bless you my friends,
    Carole

You too, and if you do want a house call vet, usually the regular vets can give you a list... prayers for a restful night.

My beloved Cheyenne lost her battle with cancer on July 15, 2000, two days after her tenth birthday. Thank you all for the prayers and the kind words.

I can relate to how you are feelings. The hardship and aching feeling I had when I was told by the vet that she had Oral Carnimol (sp). It started when my Puss Cat had a seizure which lead to Kidney Failure. She almost lost her eyesight but she did lose her hearing. A few wks. later the left side of her month swolled up which lead to Cancer (Oral). I was devasted ! Try and remember that Cheyenne" Will Always Be In Your Heart" "Cheyenne's Spirit Will Live On."

    Hi Carole,

Once again, I am so sorry about Cheyenne. She is with Rainey now, and pain free. What did her oral cancer look like? I know that a commercial had been on TV, and this woman had her labrador with her, doing dock competitions, and the dog was very happy, and fit, and only 6 yrs old. He got oral cancer and he as I said was happy, and with his owner doing what he loved. I would like to work on this, as apparently one in 3 dogs get cancer, and that should not be. I will pray about this. I hope you are doing ok, and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love Carla

Welcome
