My story

I landed on earth in 1952 in the state of confusion, commonly called California. My life would be considered reasonably normal by most, no major drama. My dad is a doctor, we were middle class. We had what we needed, but weren't spoiled. I was a good student until high school when I had to work at it, could've done better, but was more interested in having fun.
I was lucky enough to live in a school district that had a music program and started playing cello in 3rd grade, continued through college. My favorite and best subjects were English and History. I love reading always have, and will continue until my eyes give out.
I attended a junior college for 2 years after high school, transferred to Univ. Nevada, Reno, mostly because it was far enough from home that my parents wouldn't bug me, close enough to come visit them when I wanted. I ended up gettting a job in one of the casinos, the money was good, and dropped out of college. I worked first carrying change for the slot machines, then dealing blackjack and roulette for about 10 years. The money was good, I was young and stupid. I made a lot of mistakes, one of them being my first husband, that lasted less than 4 years.
I met Lou in August 1981, we married February of 1982, just celebrated our 27th anniversary. He had his first back surgery in May of 1984. We moved to California in 1985, shared an apartment with my sister for a short while until we could find a place of our own. In June of 1986 he had to have a second back surgery. Jenn was born in 1989 (after the doctor told me we'd probably never have children). She was an easy baby once she started sleeping through the night at about 8 months old. She is a naturally friendly girl, started gymnastics at 3, retired from competitive gymnastics at 16. She's a sophomore in college, and the kind of daughter most people would love to have. We get to see her when she's not so great too, but that's to be expected.
Because of stupidity and the economy we lost our house last Spring, and are struggling along. But we have many wonderful friends and have been blessed greatly. I ocaisionally suffer bouts of depression, but if the weather is nice working in the garden helps with that. All 3 of us have jobs and benefits, so I will not complain.

your attitude is great. just because you had a set back you still manage to think positive. something good is coming your way, because you refuse to feel sorry for yourself. keep on pushing. -

I so get you. We're running right behind you, and I admit, I'm scared
