Frugal Salon Services

I went to beauty school today! My neighbor is going to beauty school and she invited me in. I assumed ahead of time that I probably wasn't going to like anything she did and actually made an appointment with a "real" salon for 3 days later just in case. Well, I LOVED what I received: I had highlights, low lights, a super cute cut, and a manicure and I am actually happier than my previous hairdresser. The students working on you are supervised the entire time. They actually have to explain to the instructor what they are going to do before they do it, so it is all controlled and supervised. I felt everything was safe and hygienic the entire time. The only downfall I perceived was it did take a lot longer, because the girls are learning, and the salon was crowded.
Now down to the part you are probably most interested in: the cost of the same services at my regular salon would have been $150. Here I paid $25 (plus a $10 tip, but that was optional).

I used to go to the beauty schools and NEVER was dissatisfied. It just
takes longer, but I always was pleased. Now,to save time, I go to the
closest and cheapest and I usually come home and redo my hair - I am going
back to the beauty school!!! -

you can go to a student dental hygienist the same way and also save a fortune.
we have that here with the salon. i can get a full facial, brows waxed and a pedicure for $18.00. i couldn't believe it. the only negative was that the pedicure takes longer than at a regular salon because most of the girls are new at it. -
