Welcome
Welcome! This group is for those of us suffering from musculoskeletal pain resulting from an instability in components of the pelvis, including the sacroiliac joints, pubic symphysis, or hips. This can be caused by trauma to the bones or soft tissues of the pelvis, hormonal changes, or hypermobility of the joints of the pelvis. Pelvic instability can be acute or chronic. It can be mildly irritating or extremely painful and debilitating. Whatever your situation, you're in the right place

Pelvic Instability's First Day!
Posted by orchid11 - 10/31/08, 02:23 pmHi All,
Pelvic pain is one of a kind. The pelvis needs to be stable to do everything - sitting, standing, walking, even sleeping! The structure and function of the pelvis is extremely complex, and if one little thing is out of alignment, then joints will move improperly, ligaments and tendons will develop tears, and the muscles of the lower back and buttocks will go into spasm. Few things are quite so debilitating, and few things are so poorly understood by the medical community! That's why I created this group. People with pelvic instability need understanding from people in the same boat. We need to discuss symptom control - whether it be heat, meds, physical therapy, whatever! We need to discuss treatment and healing - whether it be prolotherapy, manipulations, or even surgery! I hope we can all support and help one another and be one big family.
With love,
Orchid
