TICS anyone??

Posted on 12/21/08, 10:06 pm
My 10 yr old son has developed TICS after being treated for ADHD a few yrs ago. He gets excited and he tightens up and makes these WEIRD deep toned giggles. His body locks into what looks like a mini siezure pose.(As he stands, sits, whatever.)It reminds me of Jerry Lewis or better yet...Jim Carey.Doc calls them TICS.
Anyone else been witnessing this????

I haven't seen it myself but I have read that some medications can cause tics and that some meds can speed up the development of tics that would otherwise be something they were going to have. from my understanding, someone with this problem normally usually have it set in during the onset of puberty... 11-15. one of my aunt's family had this happen when he was 13, but it was part of turret's syndrome.
