As more, and more time goes on, I don't miss my grandchildren less, I miss them more.....
I just got home from a meeting, and I wonder what they are doing. I wonder what my grandson is going to be for halloween?
I guess it's time to get busy and do something else, because I can't be a gramma right now.....

Yes, take uo sewing or crocheting or something to keep your mind busy. It is hard at first but you will ajust. Right now it is time to think about them of course because it is Halloween and Thanksgiving etc.

Go sailing? Sounds great, if your retired, and have a sailboat!

Oh... now I feel guilty. As time goes by, I become more accustomed to not seeing our grandson -
yes, I miss him and think about him, but I also realize I cannot let having a relationship with him ruin my life too. And, i prefer not having such drama in my life. This is not my burden to carry, it will be his mother's when the time comes. Karma.

You've evolved Lynae. Your anger is not as dominant. You are looking at this situation with a different perspective. The love for your grandkids will never go away. They know you love them. Start making a scrapbook for them, or keep a "grandma's journal" just for them. You can do this and still feel connected!

"bdms" has the right idea. Keep a journal. No matter what is said or done, they will have your words to read & make their own judgments. I really admire Lynae & mgs1 because, for me, life wouldn't be worth living without my grandkids.
