son (in recovery)

My son JUST told me he would sit down with me and a counselor, THANK-YOU LORD!!!!! I NEVER thought this would happen this soon!!!!!
I have to get on my knees and thank him!!!!!
I am holding him to this!!!!!
I even told him he could choose, the counselor, or I could, I'm waiting to hear back from him now!!!!!

I'm holding my breath......................however I do have recourse, I just hope it all works out for the best for my grandchildren, and for the family~~~~~

Finalized the appt. today. He acted like he didn't even know me on the phone, however no verbal abuse, when I called him to see if am, or pm would be best. Also, he made the comment, your paying for it, it was your idea, not mine.
Also, I went to give him directions, and he said, I already know how to get there.....
So, now, I'm doing the what if's!
What if I cry?
What if he swears at me?
What if he walks out?
what if we don't accomplish anything?
What if he won't particpate?
Then I'm like STOP IT!!!!!! LYNAE!!!!! He's going, Higher Power has something in mind!!!!!

I wonder why he called you and agreed to go but sounds so angry about it?

I am telling you not to worry but I know you will. Look at it this way, if he does any of the things your worried about....you will be right back to the begining. It won't be better, it won't be worse.
He is going , and that is all you can do is show up and hope that he does also to talk. Try not to expect to much. I will pray for you! -

I think he is angry because he is scared. My son does the same thing.
I will pray for you and your son. I know countless people have been praying for my son and he has been to a therapist four times.
I MUST let it go and take care of myself. -

Hi Lynae, My daughter just admitted herself to the Detox program and in two weeks looks like a different girl. I am very encouraged and it sounds like you should be too. Guess some really do want help. My Prayers are with you and your son. Carol -
