  This isn't specifically for an altar, but only this afternoon I picked up a tiny oak side table that someone had left outside for the rubbish collection. Yes it's old and covered with paint splodges, but it's still solid - and I know I can get it stripped down and smartened up in no time.
  
  So if you're willing to put in a bit of work, I'm sure the gods will send a few items your way :)

  Serendipity ....I love it. I have several "found" pieces of furniture that are much treasured and admired....Can't believe some people would reject solid, beautifully made pieces for mass produced stuff that falls to bits after a couple of years....
