This is a subject that I am really passionate about and I would like to know your point of view on the matter.

In my opinion:
ABORTION IS MURDER!!!

It is a child, not a choice.

Depends on what stage of development the fetus is in.

No it does not. A baby is a baby no matter what stage of development it is in. What is the difference between killing a baby when the mother is 6 weeks pregnant and killing a baby when the mother is 6 months pregnant? It is still the same baby and it will still become the same person. No matter what stage of development the fetus is in, it is still murder.

So your stance is as long as it is a potential human it's murder?

Life begins at conception. All changes in a woman with this life inside her because of her life and the changes that take place helps the new life take form and function. Because it IS a life, it than has a purpose.

The main problem with that thought is that human embryos are capable of splitting into identical twins as late as 12 days after fertilization. If it begins at conception then either one twin is never considered to be life or that they are 2 half lives.

Still needs a catalyst life to produce life weather one human or many.

I don't like to call abortion murder, however I find it repulsive and a cop out in some instances. I agree with kiska, all of life is created for a purpose. The BS about having say over your own body is just an excuse to go through with an abortion. I know there are some cases where a woman may have been forced to have sex and then a child is concieved. But to thow away another human being just because it is convienient to do so is abhorrent.

#7- As far as the last part of your post is concerned, I would say it depends on how much influence in a persons personality you attribute to genetics.

I don't follow your point Geiste, can you say it in a different way?

Okay, let's say that the rapist is a repeat offender. Just one of the jackasses that makes their goal in life to ruin others. I think we've all come across these type of people at least once. Now the most logical reason for why this person is the way they are is that it is some kind of miswiring in the person's brain that interferes with the basic moral concepts that all people have. No matter how often you present them with the societally acceptable way to act, they just don't get it and can't. If that is something that can be passed on through genetics, do we really want another one to be on this world in the future to do the same stupid shit to our children someday? I know I don't.
