DS Buddy's

I've got a thread on the main board called "Buddy Campaign". This is something I've tried to do before, but now with another member MIA, possibly dead, it feels like I need to promote the idea again.

The safest way to do this would be to list 4 or 5 buddies that have your phone number at the end of your "about me" in your profile. The only drawback is the one of them needs to be online if there is an emergency. But that is why we suggested at least 4 buddies.

I keep a DS contact page right on my desktop for easy access....so offering myself as a buddy for anyone interested. Also need a few more myself....and asking here (not on the MB) cuz lots of folks here already have my number and I would just trust you guys a whole lot more with it.

  Don't think you are too far away Jay. If you knew I was in trouble and talking to me would pull me to a safer place, you would call me, right??? Point is---BPers get in a bad place and sometimes even get lucky and a phone call, sympathetic ear and a level head (LOL if any of us EVER have a truly level head!!!) is enough to make the difference.

  I have Bobbi's number and also Cheryl's. Cheryl and I talk at least once a month, sometimes a couple times a week. Me ... when I am suicidal I don't want to hear someone tell me to go to the ER. That would likely just piss me off. I do appreciate it when someone points out to me that I've gone delusional though. Then I can just isolate myself so nobody gets hurt.

  Just to clarify, we have two Cheryl's and viejo is referring to the Gracie Cheryl.
  Viejo, unfortunately, I didn't save your number from the caller ID, but would be happy if you wanted to use me as a buddy. I can do "NO ER" and suggest a possible delusion, if in order...LOL It's up to you.
