desperate to lose weight

I want to be able to stop eating so much and to eat a much healthier diet.
I don't know were to start.

    I try to start with fruit;but I still like to pig out.
    I feel like I am going to be trying to loose weight all my life.

    What I do is, I've been carrying around a water bottle with cherries, lemons or oranges. If it's flavored, I can down it quicker. Plus, I find a protein based breakfast helps keep me full longer. More then that though, I have to constantly ask myself if I'm really hungry or just eating for another purpose. Have you thought about going to weight watchers or meeting a nutritionist?
