Veteran US Army Officer Urging Afghan Withdrawal
Posted on 10/15/09, 07:12 pm
A veteran US Army office is saying that General McChrystal's counterinsurgency strategy would make the situation in Afghanistan much worse, and urges Obama to withdraw troops from there over an 18 month period. This is becoming Obama's most urgent issue. What is your opinion?

This idea is circulating in Washington right now; this officer is saying McChrystal's current strategy against the counterinsurgency will actually strengthen the insurgency! Who should Obama listen to? -

This is such a sticky wicket! So many possibilities and so hard to know which way to go. I know one thing, President Obama will get many heads together to get the information and their input, then will give it some serious consideration before he makes a decision, unlike Dubya who just did what he & Cheney wanted and didn'[t really care about others opinions. An isolationist presidency compared to this inclusive one. -

Yeah, his biggest decision yet. That last president f%$#d up things for generations to come, didn't he? Pisses me off whenever I think about it.
It will be interesting to see what Obama decides, in the most troubling decision yet of his presidency.
