OBAMA CAVES IN TO BIG PHARMA!

Now I'm really angry!! I feel totally betrayed - I don't know what Obama is promising in return, but he cut a deal with Big Pharma drug companies to facilitate the health care bill, and they promised to shave billions from their drug prices. Two of the non negotiable items, I thought, for Dems, were the ability to import cheaper drugs from Canada, and the ability for Medicare to negotiate with Big Pharma! What is YOUR take on this turn of events??

A disappointment for sure. Is President Obama so desparate to achieve health care reform that he making deals with the devil (Pharma) to get a bill passed?? -

This is my biggest disappointment with Obama so far, in his Presidency. I can't believe he did this. He will probably say he "had to" to get any health care reform at all. -

I sure hope the "he had to" won't be an excuse to enforce a tax hike of some kind to pay for the health reform bill. There are sure enough mixed answers regarding the possiblity of some type of tax hike. -

He is saying an increase in taxes on those who make over $280,000 a year will be partly what pays for this bill. Offhand, I can't remember where the other source of payment was from (but I could go look it up). -

I saw the $280K figure in a news article about this, but it is $250K in this article - tapping people who make this amount or more for higher taxes to help pay for the bill. And he's limiting itemized deductions for people of this income bracket as well. -
