Fighting through Negative Self-Talk
Posted on 10/29/09, 07:34 amAt some point we all have a negative voice in our head telling us we
can't finish a workout or some other negative thought. Maybe you
have not exercised in a long time and when you start the voice is
saying "you have too far to travel - don't bother". Or when you are
doing your interval workout and the final interval is challenging
and the voice says "you are too tired - blow it off".
But the key to being successful for the long haul with your fitness
and weight loss journey is to stay positive, ignore the negative
voice and keep fighting.
Life is too short to beat yourself up over weight you have gained,
workouts you have missed or eating like a mad women for a day or
two. All you can do is get back on the horse and keep moving.
Beating yourself up or listening to the negative voice in your head
is only going to drag you in the wrong direction.
So if you are struggling to walk to the mail box or struggling to
finish your 30 minute interval workout, don't let the negative voice
drag you down. You are better than that and you deserve to feel great
about yourself and to have tons of energy!

I am just getting ready to start working out tomorrow. I haven't in years, so I know that negative voice will be there...it has already started. I will just have to buckle down and do it and ignore that crazy voice. -
