Try Cayenne fruit or cayan pepper. I have been reading a lot about this one. Supposed to have lots of good stuff for the bowels and very good for the heart. I read that you can make a tea. One teaspoon to a glass of hot water. I havent tried that yet.
Have you looked into food allergies and possible celiac disease?

The three biggest things I recommend would be:
Low Dose Naltrexone (studies have been done with Crohn's and it works great) http://lowdosenaltrexone.org
Lactoferrin (specifically reduces intestinal inflammation among many other great things) http://gentlehugscafe.com
Serracor-NK (I have heard but don't know personally that this works well with IBS) http://biomediclabs.com
I am currently on all three. I have many health issues but I feel great and have things 90% under control. Keep us posted!

I use to suffer from this years ago but I cured myself. it took several months but I did it. In a nut shell you have to first learn to deal with what caused it. Stess, a round of antibiotics, bad back, etc. First change your diet. Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits and for whole grains use BROWN rice to start with. For fiber use glucomanin fiber tablets as these are best tolerated phyllium tends to give you too much gas. Avoid dairy prodts, cafeine, sugar, alcohol, smokeing, vegetables that cause gas like caluflower, broccoli, cabbage, beans. avoid nuts, seeds, orange and grapefruit. spices.
If your Ibs is really bad you might have puree your cooked vegetables.
Supplements to take every day. flaxseed oil, garlic pills in liquid form, glocumanin fiber, good probiotic, colostrum, and a good multiple vitamin with minerals. and that's a good one not one a day or centrium, Drink plenty of water and do some exercise like walking everyday. Noni juice is great for getting you regular if you have that part of the problem. There are a few more things but these are the major ones. In about 3 to 4 weeks you should notice a difference. -

If you have diarrhea, calcium will help slow it down. For constipation, magnesium works as a laxative. Be sure to start with a low dose to see how your body responds, especially with magnesium as too much will turn your bowels to water and you'll be in stuck in the bathroom for days on end.
You might also try a low dose of the amino acid 5-htp if you have constipation as it puts serotonin in the body, and most of the body's serotonin is found in the gut. Serotonin helps intestinal motility. Be sure and start at a low dose to see how you respond to it. If you're on an antidepressant, you shouldn't take 5-htp as you could develop sertonin syndrome where you get too much of it in your brain. -
