colostrum, milk thistle(some) and a good overall vitamin seems to give me more energy. The quietening of the pain is slight but with more energy you work out the aches and feel more like doing things. If you let yourself get to out of shape it seems to be worse nerve pain. Fish oils in the omegas and helps nerve function and improves the fog.

Check out the website treatingandbeating.com for articles on fibro. It's the website of Dr. Rodger Murphree who treats fibro with orthomolecular medicine meaning he uses vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other supplements to provide the body with what it needs.

After reading his book, I started using amino acids to regulate my brain chemistry and am amazed at the improvement. I went from being 'sick' sick 6 days a week to just being overly tired when I overdo it.

For pain, check out triggerpointbook.com to learn about myofascial pain. 99% of my pain is myofascial and I've been able to keep it under control about 90% of the time doing trigger point massage.

I wanted to mention RIBOSE. (It's a natural sugar - the "r" in RNA.) I don't have fibromyalgia, but several of my patients do. (I'm a Chiropractor.) The latest research talks about taking 10g/day - a heaping tsp. One of my patients says she takes 2-3 g. daily and has found it very helpful. It's certainly worth a try.

I've found that diet is the only way to manage fibromyalgia symptoms. Firstly, I went gluten free and cured myself of chronic fatigue. I avoid citrus fruits and tomatoes like the plague. If I eat them, the pain will have me in bed all the next day, so if you eat them everyday......I'm sure you get the drift. Also I've recently discovered that I am salicylate sensitive. If I eat foods that are high in salicylates, I feel utterly dreadful.......fatigued, brain dead and near suicidal. I was eating kiwifruit, blueberries and an apple everyday and wondering why I was going downhill fast. Somehow I found the answer in Google. These fruits are all high in salicylates, so now I only eat pears when I want fruit. Other foods also have high levels of salicylates and I don't think any high salicylate foods agree with fibromyalgia. Avoiding these kinds of foods could be the answer for fibro sufferers. It certainly helps for me. Apart from diet, I take fish oil and mutivitamins.
