Any suggestions on TMJ or MYOFASCIAL PAIN in my face

Posted on 05/24/09, 10:14 am
I been on three antibotics, drs said it was sinuses causing my pain, I finally went to an ENT and had a cat scan, NO SINUSES< I was taking months of antibotics for NOTHING. Bad for my health and my bank acct.

Anyway, with my fibro and myofascail pain lately the pain has moved from my teeth and cheekbones to my jaw. Seems it gets aggravated after I chew, I cant even touch the left side of my face because of the pain, Its from that joint down to my chin.

I read putting heat pacs on it will help but wonder if anyone else has any suggestions, I been reading about exercises for the problem too. Have to get out my trigger point therapy book and do it also.

But appreciate anyones opinion and what they do,

Thanks

Here's a link to a good article showing face and jaw TPs that should help you:

For years my teeth throbbed and it was all myofascial pain. I've never had sinus pain thankfully.

Thanks for the link, I been massaging the trigger point and watching the crotching while I am sitting here. ALso talking to myself and ridding my ownself of the stress of MIL problems and sister problems have helped.
Thanks for all you do sequlley and your support.

A little known but powerful treatment called NeuroCranial Restructuring could really have potential to help you. It helped me so much I started a group here called NeuroCranial Restructuring Works and recently a doctor joined us. For me it ended 12 years of pain from a head injury and does great good for people with sinusitis as well as head and spinal issues.

Sounds like Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). You need a Neurologist to diagnose this from an MRI. Check out the TN group on this site for more answers to your questions.
