what bands,or singers, make you feel good, when your feeling all down and out?? For me,it would be listening to The Ozark Mountain Daredevils,or The Who,I like going back in time, where life seemed simpler, and good times were going on...Brings me back, how about you, name some..

hi, i have not been on this site yet, but thought i would tell you the strange thing about me feeling depressed and what music makes me feel better.
well its punk rock and angry music, music thats angry with society, it takes focus of my misery for a short while and i have some one to blame.
I know its crazy, but it works for me.
best on lp too, i like the nostalgic feeling of vinyl,

I agree w/ you Alice79. I'm the same way. Raging music helps me work out the negative feelings. :) -

World/Inferno Friendship Society ALWAYS cheer me up - punky toons with klezmer undertones. Love 'em. -

Ween is silly and irrational and that's what I want to be when I'm depressed and thinking too much. Beck is my god so he always makes me happy. Grateful Dead too - who could possibly be depressed listening to them? -

Like iwonde, I love Beck and the Grateful Dead. You can't be in a bad mood and listen to those bands. I also like Phish. They are silly and fun, although their ballads can make you blubber like a baby.
Of course, my ultimate is Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder's baritone is as comforting as the smell of your mother's hair when you were a child.
I have turned to them for almost 17 years now.
