Way to go Josh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE U2 also. It ain't a good day to me until I've heard some U2. They are support the Iranian election protesters right now, and in a recent performance, dedicated "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" to them.
Don't change your ways to be what your daughter thinks a grandma is "supposed to be like". I'd think she would be proud you are as youthful as you are! I would be! I'm 54 and I'm a new grandmother, and I sure as hell ain't giving up my jeans or my U2 OR my Stones or Led Zep or any of my favorite bands!
My mom, who is now 82 and in a rest home w/ Alzheimers, well when she was in her 50's & 60's she was still a rocker. We took her to see Elvis and Bob Seeger & the Silver Bullet and my brother took her to see ZZ Top. So tell your daughter there are a lot of us grannies who will stay young & ROCK til we drop!!

Well, here's the sad truth, lol. I'm a 51-year-old grandmother, divorced, mother of 2 grown daughters, who is completely obsessed with U2. Their songs are better therapy for me than an entire TEAM of shrinks working around the clock trying to figure me out, lol, and I really enjoy the fact that they are a band with a cause. So much music out there today is meaningless, but not U2. I've been with them from day 1, and plan to be rocking and rolling in my wheelchair at the nursing home to their music. Pitiful, huh? BTW - did I mention that my daughter thinks I'm a complete idiot because I don't display the correct "grandma persona" she thinks I should, i.e., the short curly hairdo, the grandma jeans, the Lawrence Welk music, etc. It infuriates her that I wear my hair long, my jeans skinny, and love rock. Why is that? What is SHE afraid of? I'm a well behaved woman, don't party, don't go to bars, etc. She should embrace me being an individual like she expects me to do for her, but it ain't happening.

u2 was a good rock band. i was with them since "boy". however, their last records few records have become irrelevant to me. like all great rock bands they have long since reached thier peak.bono, i love you buddy, but you and the boys should consider retiring, your message is getting old. maybe consider going into the mosquito net biz. younger lads now have taken your place, like BRITISH SEA POWER, who rock , have a fresh new message., and do not repeat themselves over and over. i`m an old fart, but check out BPS youtube "WAVING FLAGS" or "NO LUCIFER"...BPS is rock music. fresh, energetic and full of life, hope and faith. -
