Big Boys Don't Cry!!!!!!
Posted on 03/19/09, 10:54 am
I would like to know why men feel they cannot cry. As a woman and correct me if I'm wrong but I find personally it's a great built up stress reliever. Do you think men would lead healthier happier lives if they cryed. I know how tiring MS can be. And I find one of the best ways to relieve my rock-bottom is a good cry. I find it very therapeutic and I physically feel better after a good cry. I just wish men had the same freedom to express Stress through a good cry and not have the hangup it's not manly, it's just an outlet.

I have always been quick tempered and ready to fight. Thought that I was macho. Like you said Men don't cry. That all changed when the meds started in 06. Even t.v. commercials made me cry. Breakdowns with emotions build up to a cry. I can still kick some ass if i have to but i might cry after it. There is nothing wrong with crying. It shows that you are human. Humans have emotions. let them out!! -

Good for you, every tear shed is a cleansing of our souls, just like spring rain it washes away winter grime to make way for new life. -

It is not that I don't want to cry, I just can't.
I sometimes know that I should just sit down and cry as that would make me feel better. It just won't happen.
I have a great way to vent now. I turn sorrow to anger then anger to rage. Then I take it out on a very heavy and well beat up old stove stored in the garage. Since I am in constant pain anyways it really doesn't matter much.
I can tell you that I can pick up a very old oil-burning kitchen stove and throw it across the room when I get really mad....lol -

WOW! The Tammy Faye Baker of men!
And finally something virtuous about you, (Your Heart)!
Thanks for the song and thank whoever for the stove! LOL! -

I saw my dad cry twice==once when we as a family were watching the funeral of President Kennedy on TV and when I got married. Wondering was that a cry of sorrow or tears of joy that the last child got married==hmm.
Crying for me is a release like a slowly seeping of air from a balloon (minus the noise), holding it in would be like blowing a balloon till it bursts. -

I believe that it shows vulnerability...Who wants too show that???Not that a man shouldn't cry (it happens),
but they may feel like doing so is like exposing a turtles belly, and doing so in front of whomever
could spell testicular suicide(in their mind).
just a thought. -

'MEN R FROM MARS,WOMEN R FRON VENUS' IS A BOOK THAT TALKS ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES IN HOW MEN AND WOMEN REACT. THEY'LL DO WHAT THEY WANT AND WE ALL REACT DIFFERENTLY TO THINGS. I NO I FEEL MUCN BETTER WHEN I CRY AND JUST GET RELIEVED OF STRESS. -

I only saw my dad cry once, when his mother died. I believe men should cry more - there's that stupid stigma that it's unmanly - it isn't - except when it's overdone, like Montel. He's always spoutin' the tears - it loses it's credibility for me then.
