Track-it - cursor control for switch users
Posted on 09/09/09, 06:17 am
For people who have difficulty with mice, trackball etc but maybe reluctant to do to scanning/switches this solution maybe slightly better.
Instead of the software scanning from menu to menu (or phrase to phrase on communciation aid) and you waiting until it gets to the one you want, with Track It you actually control which direction you want the cursor to move in.
When you press the switch it goes round the directions (you can choose 4 or 8 way directional) you click when it gets onto direction you want it to move then click again to stop it on right spot.
You can choose to have more than one switch if you can manage more than one and this can speed things up further by having a specific switch for drag lock for example or a separate switch to scan along the bottom four options - left click, double click, drag lock, right click.
