disappointment

I went to see my dr last week for my diabetes check. I always have to be weighed when I see my dr. It's part of what they do along with the vitals. Here I was thinking I lost some weight because my clothes are fitting differently, some are now actually fitting and some are getting looser. I thought maybe 10 lbs? Wrong answer!! I didn't lose an ounce! My weight was exactly the same as it was in May!!! Although I am burning off fat and my belly is smaller, I've also been building up muscle. I believe there is also some water retention. I was disappointed as I had hoped to see some loss on the scales. But, I know it's coming off and that's more important that what the scales say, I guess. It is encouraging that some of my clothes are getting loose. I'm also able to get into some clothes I couldn't months ago. So, I'll keep working at it and one day it will have to show on the scales that I've lost weight!!!

love & hugs,
Char

I hate doctor scales... seeing those numbers can turn a good day into a blue funk. Go by how you feel... how your clothes fit is a good guide. Sooner or later, the numbers will be forced into submission. Take care of you!

Do you have scales at home? My doctor's scales always weighs me higher than the one at home or even the one I weigh on at TOPS. I now have him write down the difference on the weights.
