Hi all
I am just over 38 weeks now. Now I'm gonna sound like a right moan bag/hypercondriac but I just need to let it all out.....
The bad stuff of pregnancy I can cope with as I am just so excited about meeting my little one.
I just wondered if anyone else 38 weeks or more is experiencing the same things as me and if so we can moan about them together or offer each other advice on how to make the situation more comfortable. Does this mean the baby is going to be early? I was 4/5th engaged 3 weeks ago when I visited the midwife and she said that the baby is very very low down?
1.Period like pains - for the last 2 weeks
2.Painful braxton hicks contractions - intermittent
3.Sleepless nights - Baby up under my ribs
4.Hiccups x3 a day and at night
5.Baby pressing on my bladder making me feel sore inside and when baby moves - feels like cystitis but without the burning when wee
6.Increased discharge - nice!
7.Morning sickness returned last 2 weeks
8.Back ache
9.Frequent bowel movements
10.Trapped nerve in groin/top of leg
11.Chapped lips probably from snoring!
12.Uncomfortable baby movements where so squashed in there
13.Belly rock hard all the time
Happy pregnancies everyone. Good luck. x

Well the only thing that might indicate labor to start soon is increased bowel movements. With your first they can drop up to a month before labor begins. Of course with my first, she dropped about 3 weeks before her due date...I went to my ob appointment and they told me she would not be coming any time soon. She was born 3 days later. This is my third full term pregnancy and yes I am going through all that you described. I also have the added bonus of severe round ligament pain, which has been going on since month 6. It's like all of a sudden someone has stabbed me in the gut with a knife. My heartburn is so bad I have to sleep propped up which makes my neck hurt...the good news is my husband is awesome and has been giving me nightly back rubs. What's most annoying is heartburn and that feeling of having to pee constantly at the same time!!!
With any pregnancy past your first the baby dropping is a really good sign that birth is imminent...ours has not dropped yet. I would like him to wait until Feb. Which is only one week more. I am also at 38 weeks.
Thanks for gripe session...although I too am glad for it as soon we will be holding our baby boy and since this is our last I am trying to enjoy all the positive things about pregnancy. i will miss feeling him move around...it's fun to watch other people's reactions when they see his foot move across the front of my belly.
Good luck to us all...may we have a successful, and quick labor and delivery!!!! -

I'm 38w today and I am sooo ready for this baby to come!! On top of the symptoms you listed I have a wrist that barely bends and when my lower back gets really bad the pain radiates in my knees...i swear pregnancy gives you the weirdest symptoms! Between feeling like I waddle and then limping some from my pulled groin muscle I am so graceful :-). I'm hoping for positive news at the doctor tomorrow. I know that you can be dialated for a while, but somehow I feel like it will make me feel better if the doctor tells me that something is happening.
Hang in there ladies, our babies will be in our arms soon!!
