Parents who were abused as children. Parents who have been abused as children are more likely to become abusive parents than those parents raised in a nonviolent environment. However, this does not mean that all adults who survived child abuse will become abusive parents themselves; many good people are able to stop the cycle of inter-generational violence simply by deciding they will not become monsters themselves, that they will instead love and cherish their children. -
