No appetite
Constantly throwing up
Hot flashes
Night sweats
Lack of sex drive
Tingling in my feet and calves (I used to describe it as the feeling of a cat peeing on me, my foot would just all of a sudden feel warm)
Extreme mood swings-crying for no reason or instant anger for no reason
There was a bunch more, but it has been a while....

I experienced nearly every "noted" side effect of Lupron. And then things got worse. I now have a 6 mm mass on my Pituitary gland. I have MS/Lupus/Epstein-Barr symptoms...I'm being seen by several doctors to diagnose what is really going on here. No one believes it could possibly be the Lupron as the culprit...we all know differently. In the past year, I have dramatically changed. My symptoms prior to Lupron were just constant menstral bleeding and pain. Now, I STILL have that, along with all these other issues. It has made me desperate to get real answers and that is why I'm trying in any way possible to spread awareness, share information and fight with everything I have in me, on the days that I can actually fight. -

I only had ONE shot of Lupron, but immediately became sick. My side effects were extreme bloating (I looked 7 months pregnant), low back pain, hot flashes, rapid weight gain, nausea, night sweats, mood swings and joint pain. I complained to my Dr., and he told me the drug would work its way out of my system and things would return to normal. 5 years later, I'm still suffering but now it's called fibromyalgia, arthritis, fatty liver/hepatitis and off the charts cholestrol. My back and pelvic pain is so bad still that I'm electing to have an hysterectomy in the hope that it will provide some relief. Before the Lupron shot, I had endometriosis, now I have multiple problems and the only symptoms that cleared up were the night sweats, hot flashes and nausea. -

Heart palpitation,Anxiety, trouble breathing
Severe bleeding
Really bad abdominal pains and achy all over
headaches
vomiting, upset stomach, general feeeling of having the flu
Hot flashes
tingling in my legs and feet
Fatigue
Depression, Intense mood swings
Confusion, could not carry on a normal conversation.
On top of all of this my doctor said that he has never had a patient react to lupron the way I did. He told me it was my nerves and gave me a script for Ativan, I refused any more shots and I am now on my last pack of bcp's. He said the BCP's wouls mimic what the Lupron does for the endo. I am in pain right now and I am waiting on mt doctor to call me back about some prescription meds. I hate that the rest of you had to endure this kind of suffering as well!

Anxiety
Nausea
Hair loss
Fatigue!!!
Joint Pain
Thinned bones
Those are the ones I still have 4 years after my last shot. While I was still on it, I had:
Mood Swings
Night Sweats
Hot Flashes
Depression
LesC, I also have high cholesterol and I'm not sure why. I'm so thin that the dr that ran the test argued with me for at least half an hour because she was sure I was anorexic. -

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last october I had a mastectomy on November 30, 2007. The Oncologyst prescribed on January 2008, Tamoxifen, by mid February I developed a severe reaction to this hormonal therapy and was taken off the medication. It took 28 days for the medicine to ware off my system which created havoc to my immune system. To be able to use the next medicine, Arimidex the Dr. prescribed Lupron to make me post menopausal. My first shot was given in March.
March 08 -First Month side effects: Horrible Migrane headaches, very strong hot flashes starting as soon as I got the first shot. My hand and feet would get numbed. Back pain and swelling of my joint and pain in the joints, lack of sleep, ringing in my ears - tinnitus. I became very depressed and didn't want to talk to anyone. I did get my period. I was not able to start the Arimidex (hormonal therapy)
April 08- Second Month side effects: Same as above, except I did not get my period, instead I developed a rash for the days I was supposed to have it. I also went to see my optometrist and they found I have a macular degeneration on my left eye which has been bothering more and more until now, I feel this is due to the use of Lupron. I also have extreme memory loss to the point that I cry of frustration.
May 08- Third Month side effects: I have swelling of my throat and I have developed lumps not sores inside the derma of my lips. I called my Dr., never returned the call since he feels I am exagerating all this symptoms. I waited 4 days for his call, I called again due to the lumps were getting bigger his nurse said to me that I should go an see my primary care Dr. because this had nothing to due with Lupron! I was horrified. I told the nurse google lupron and the side effects that many women and men are getting due to this injections, she finally agreed to see me the same day. Another Oncologist saw me and was surprised to see the lumps inside my lips.
Has anyone suffered from macular degeneration and lumps inside the derma of the lips due to the use of Lupron? Please help!!

Adaiz, Please read the "interesting information" post that I just posted. It notes rashes, swelling of lips/tongue, etc. It sounds to me like an allergic reaction. Look at the sites that I listed, print out the information and send it to your doctor. That's what I would do. The information is there. You are not alone! Please keep us all updated. -

Welcome
Join This Group
This is a group for those who have been on Lupron and it HAS NOT worked. It is also for those of us who have had the adverse side effects or those who stopped taking Lupron due to not being able to deal with the side effects. This is NOT a group for those who like Lupron. Thank you.
