Loved Ones who support someone with MS Community Group
This group is meant for those who help someone with MS. This would include family, good friends, spouses and caregivers. It is a place to exchange good ideas that may help us in caring for those we love that have this disease.

Those with autoimmune diseases especially need to avoid food they are allergic to. A little background is that there are different classifications of immunoglobulins or antibodies (bind to antigens) in our blood. I like to call them MADGE or:
* IgM- first responders, temporary
* IgA - in secreations like mucus, tears, etc (triggered by gut)
* IgD - they are still researching this one
* IgG- second responders, can cross placenta, responsible for latent response because they stick around
* IgE - acute response that in some can cause anaphylactic shock or death
So how the heck does this apply to you?
Most doctors offices only check you for IgE that cause immediate, acute problems. They do NOT check you for IgG that cause chronic issues. If you have symptoms such a headaches, sinus issues, sneezing this maybe something you want to look into getting tested...or not.
This recently was brought up when someone I knew had sinus issues they could not figure out and no doctor tested this. He said now this new doc wants to test me for something no one else has. I said "Allergies" he blinked and then said yes. I told him I had noticed since really reducing my milk intake my sinus issues I have had all my life are almost nothing.
Take away is that both IgG and IgE at the very least should be tested.
Hope this helps someone,

What’s the biggest challenge in your life right now?

The below link at least tests for IgE and IgG and is color coated (green you can eat it, yellow eat it once in a while, red stay away from it). I have not used the below test yet but am strongly considering it for my hubby.
