Beaumont invited me to post my story about moving with 24 cats....I hope you enjoy it!
How to Move when you have 24 cats...
1. get a box
2. open a closet or drawer
3. remove cat from box
4. remove cat from closet or drawer
5. place items in closet or drawer on the head of cat in box
6. dig down into box and remove cat
7. close lid of box
8. hear meows emanating from box
9. open box and remove cat
10. close box really fast
11. tape box shut
12. count cats
13. try to make 24 cats stay still so you can count them
14. count cats again
15. open box
16. remove cat
17. repeat 27 gazillion times with lots of boxes and lots of cats
18. consider taking up drinking
19. consider moving cats by putting them in boxes and taping them shut (the boxes, not the cats)
20. repeat 27 gazillion times
21. call your therapist for moral support
22. make it through the day (finally)
23. feed cats and realize one is missing
24. open every box that you packed today...cat will be in the very last one taking a nap.
25. practice primal screaming
26. give up for the day
27. have several drinks
28. go to bed having accomplished absolutely nothing
29. wake up in the middle of the night by hearing cats chewing on boxes
30. get up the next morning and realize the boxes you have are now unusable because they have been destroyed by 24 little demons....er....cats.
31. vacuum
32. go back to number 1 and do it all again.
33. Have serious thoughts about putting quick sand in all the litterboxes...sigh...
34. try to explain to everyone that you are several weeks behind schedule because you have cats
35. ignore the stupid looks you get for giving that explanation.
36. sigh, go to bed and pull the covers over your head while repeating 'tomorrow is another day' over and over
37. wake up the next day and realize that nothing has changed and you are still packing the same stuff over and over.
38. practice more primal screaming
39. practice more drinking
40. repeat, ad infinitum, ad nauseum
Yep, moving is fun in the catslave household and I have come to realize that as long as I have cats I am never going to move again!
