I have a question on b.p and hormones.

Hi, I still kind of new to this website, I am wondering if anyone out there experiences b.p. getting worse while being perimenopausal ? It seems for me that every 3 or 4 months I get a bad cycling of b.p., but then usually it's right before my monthly cycle. I get that every month but again I notice the hot flashes are getting worse and I get irritable and am not sure if it is like I mentioned above, perimenopause or b.p. or do they feed off of each other. Any input back is appreciated. Thanks.

I can't say I've had any experience with this, per se, but I do know that any kind of changes or fluctuations in hormones can seriously affect your moods, even if you don't have BP. Once you throw that into the mix it's just one big old mess. I wish I had more feedback or information to give you. The only thing I can think of is to talk to your pdoc and your ob/gyn, maybe even your primary care doc. Good luck! I hope that you get the answers you are looking for. -

I've asked and it seems one tells me hormones do play a role in this mess, another says perimenopause, another doesn't. Whatever, I guess it is what it is. Thanks for your input, I guess I'm just weird. If I don't have my diabetes under control that I notice affects moods and maybe this is contributing to my sweats. Sorry for the rant and rave. But I do appreciate your suggestions. -

I do think that my symptoms have become worse since I am perimenopausal. I have had 2 serious manic episodes since May (2 overdoses and 2 hospitalizations), and the docs have suggested that I get a check up from my gynecologist (scheduled in October). There is a realtionship.
