Please pray for Ella and Family

Posted on 03/11/09, 11:59 am
Hi a friend of mine (Gillc) requested prayer for Ella Oak. She is three years old. She belongs to the same musis group as my friends daughter and they have become firm friends. Ella picked up a virus recently and got very ill very quickly. She has now been in a coma for nearly three weeks and has been moved out of the area to a more specialist hospital. Her parents have no church contact but have asked for prayer.
She groaned a little yesterday which they found encouraging, but the are so worried. They have also been warned that even if she recovers from the coma, there might still be brain damage because of the severity of the illness. Her brain is still not respoding.
Please pray for a complete recovery, and for strength and comfort for her family during this time. (They are also caring for her 7 month old sister, too.)
Many, many thanks

Lord, I ask your healing hands on Ella. Lord, you know what is wrong with this baby and how to fix it. Please, give this child full recovery and let her family know that it is you that healed her! Then, their faith will be strengthened also. We love you and thank you for all of your blessings. In Jesus' name I ask these things, Amen

Thank you, thank you Michelle for posting this prayer request for my friends. And thank you to those who have responded. It is truly appreciated. I am hoping to travel to visit them at the hospital if possible on Thursday, so might to have more news then. As things stand, Ella is still very ill but said "Dada" (just like a baby) a few days ago. So this first word might be a positive sign. Please keep her in your prayers. x x

I wanted to let you know that I was able to visit Ella last Thursday.

In one sense, she is making good progress: she is out of her come and is sitting up unaided, she is saying a few more words and eating a little pureed baby. She is having daily physiotherapy, there is "playtime" every day and although she cannot take part, it gives her a change of room and faces. The care seems to be good.

However, what she is saying makes no sense (a lot of repetition of the same word), she does not seem to recognise people (even her parents), her movements are still very uncontrolled (she is constantly writhing around), her eyes seem "switched off". Her poor parents look exhausted. Her mum said she is feeling guilty for not appreciating the progress Ella has made (as when she first came out of the coma, she was constantly slumped in her chair and drooling). But this is understandable, as nobody knows when the progress might stop. And that is so frightening as she is far from the little girl she was.

Please continue to pray for her. Thank you.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the progress Ella has made. Please continue to heal this beautiful child. Please Lord help her to keep making progress. I ask that you would give her parents the strength and patience they need to endure and carry on. We thank u for this Lord, In your Mighty Name. Amen

The miracles surrounding Kylie inspired this prayer room for kids in need so Kylie's ministry can continue on. Kylie's ministry began before her birth by bringing Diane to DS and continued in the PICU when many came to Diane (Kylie's Grandma) with prayer requests for their kids after hearing that Kylie who had been given no hope & taken off life support continue to live. This room is for all kids with physical and emotional needs. Kylie's miracle continues!
