I Made It

Okay,

So I have found the site... NOW WHAT?! What steps should I take?

This is my story:

I have NEVER had a regular period. The only time I have had a period is when on birth control... and I never had one PRIOR to birth control either. My period never came so the dr. put my on BC in order to get my system going. I decided to go off of birth control and came to the startling discovery that my period came to a hault. My problem was never 'fixed' by going on BC, the symptom was temporarily addressed. I have come to find the term for a 'missing period' is amenorreah. Every once in a long while I'll get a period, but it is rare, if at all. I used several herbal remedies toward the end of last year, specifically Dong Quai and saw good results in becoming regular. I switched to a Dong Quai brand of tea that is manufactured rather than brewing it myself, and again, my periods came to a hault.

This is basically where the story ends. I am pondering what my next step should be. Should I try brewing my own Dong Quai tea again? But even if my periods come back, how do I know if I am even ovulating? How do I know if the period is 'real'? And if I do not go back to the Dong Quai, what other over-the-counter/natural alternatives are there? I am trying to utilize every avenue before turning to professional help.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome. Your problem is not uncommon. Lots of women had missing or irregular periods. It could be a hormonal imbalance, PCOS or something else. Natural remedies ca help but it might also be good to go to a doctor (OBGYN or RE -- reproductive endocrinologist) who can do blood testing to determine if you are ovulating. Depending on what the diagnosis is will effect your treatment. Good luck.

I had a similar problem also and I found that after trying every medication on the market that the only thing that worked for me is my brilliant chinese herbalist who specialises in gynocology. He has worked wonders and I highly recommend finding a great chinese herbalist near you if you have already had results from herbs. Good luck

I found an herbalist in North Kansas City and emailed him asking if they specialize in any fertility treatments. Thanks for your responses!!!
