Hi, I am new to this group. I am glad I have found you as I wanted to talk to people who have just started fertility treatment and to share this journey! I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half. My partner already has two kids and didn't have any problem at all conceiving them with his ex partner. It happened very quickly and easily for them, but with me it is taking a long time.
I have had two lots of blood tests to observe my hormones, one lot showed I had high Oestrogen levels. The nurse said that can affect fertility, but my doctor says it can't! Confusing! I have to have another blood test tomorrow (Day 3) of my cycle then on Day 21. The Doctor wants to test my hormone levels on different days of my cycle, to see if there is a probem. If they are normal, he will refer me to a gynecologist for more tests and possibly drug treatment.
The last time I saw my Doc, he said he thinks I have Polycystic Overy Syndrome, but it didn't show up in my scan that i had and no tests. The doc has n evidence to say this, he just thinks it! Could he be wrong? How do you diagnose PCOS?
I've always had this fear i will never get pregnant, i don't know whether its because i want it so much or if i just know. I came on my period yesterday, my heart sunk, i feel low

:( I understand how you are feeling and have felt that way a lot recently. I have found that expressing myself on a post or in a journal entry on Daily Strength can help. I also found that reading about other people's struggles makes me feel less alone and reading about their successes keeps me hopeful. I want to welcome you to this little group! -

Welcome to the group! I know how you feel! I do not have PCOS but I do know they have to do a blood test to check...Do you have the symptoms of PCOS? I had symptoms of endo but my doc never did the test to see and when we were going to I got prego...
When I first went to the doc he did a day 23 blood test to see if I Ovulated...well, i didnt so then he put me on clomid 50 mg.
I was able to ovulate with 50 mg but it still took 4 cycles before I got my big fat positive!!!
I wish you the best of luck! If you have any questions feel free to ask NO QUESTION IS A DUMB QUESTION HERE!!! I have found peace with these ladies and they have helped me and still are helping me!
Also you may check in the PCOS forum those ladies may be a little more helpful with the syndrome then I was!

I was only jus put in the catagory of PCOS because I basically have non existing AF's and I have about 15 cysts on each ovary but thats all of the symptoms that I have. Everyone has different symptoms so its hard to say.
Do lots of reserch, ask lots of questions, even see Clairvoyants if you need to cos it wil happen but the more you know the better.

Thankyou everyone! To jnhaney84, no I don't have any of the PCOS Symptoms and no cysts showed up on my scans! Thats why I'm not sure why the Doctor diagnosed me with it!
I went to have my blood test done today, I get my results on Tuesday. I will let you know what the results are. Then another blood test day 21 but I booked my test for that day, not realising I am away on my Honeymoon so won't be able to have it done! I will ring the doctors and ask if i can have it done day 22 instead. Would it make a difference?
I'm sorry but what is AF?
My partner had a sperm count done and he is fine-75 million sperm apparently! Only a few slow swimmers, most are healthy.
Congrats on the postive pregnancy jnhaney84, how long did it take you to fall preg? -
