Hi Samantha
I experienced no pain with either ER or ET. Both are faurly quick procedures and were lot better than i thought.
Re 2ww after i got mainly rest. they dont recommend doing anything strenuous so if you can i would speak to your boss re taking it easier.
good luck and let me know if you have any questions. i have gone throu ivf once and now almost 17wks pregnant!

Hi All,
I'm new to the group and have done 2 IUI's with Femera and 2 with injections. I am on my 3rd IUI (5th in total) with injections and my Dr. thinks our best option will be to do IVF at the end of the month.
I was just wondering if those of you that have been through IVF, if you could let me know how much pain/discomfort you had with the Egg Retrieval and also with the Embryo Transfer.
Can you also let me know how much (if any) rest time you had with both...just curious because I work in a manufacturing plant and I am on my feet for the majority of my 12 hour shift and am not sure if I should take it easy or not.
Thanks in advance for the advice and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

Hi Samantha
I also had no pain with ER or ET, and did IVF twice. I did not have any soreness after either procedure. The rest you might require could be dependent on the cause(s) of your infertility, but usually most doctors do not require bed rest. My first cycle I had the day off, and have a desk job and the (lack of positive) result was most likely due to my age; despite the fact that we did PGD (pre-implantation genetic testing). My job is /was primarily desk-sitting and typing, which is part of the reason I went back to work.
I finished a "round 2" of IVF a few weeks ago and I have an ultrasound on the 30th to find out if one embryo is present, or if both decided to stick around.
You have a TON of support with the ladies' on DS. I wish you the best of luck in your adventure! -
