What Is It?
Biofeedback is a form of therapy that teaches you to control automatic body functions such as heart rate, muscle tension, breathing, perspiration, skin temperature, blood pressure and even brain waves. By learning to control these functions, you may be able to improve your medical condition, relieve chronic pain, reduce stress or improve your physical or mental performance (sometimes called peak performance training).
During biofeedback training, sensors detect changes in your pulse, skin temperature, muscle tone, brain-wave pattern or some other physiological function. These changes trigger a specific signal - a sound, a flashing light, a change in pattern on a video screen - that tells you that the physiological change has occurred. Gradually, with the help of your biofeedback therapist, you will learn to alter the signal yourself by taking conscious control of your body's automatic body functions (physiology).

I have heard lots of great things about biofeedback and I would love to try it, but I have run out of $ on acupuncture, amazon herbs and reiki healings, not to mention all of the copays that I have to pay each specialist. Thanks for sharing this as I really believe that it would be a great help to all. One question please: where do you find someone who practices biofeedback and what is their title? I have read of the wonderful things that it will do, but nowhere have I read of where to get it done. Thanks for answering a "dummy's" question. -

I didn't know much about reiki untill I had it done on me. I will never do it aagin, lol. I was awake almost three days in a row. It made my ADHD worse, and I have enough hyperactivity to deal with already.
I'm afraid to try biofeedback cause of what the reiki did. -

i think there must be something more to the reiki session you had, reiki is a very safe therapy that promotes well, being and is a self healing process.
i have worked with reiki for 10 years and never heard of this before, i would be curious to know further details of your experience, was it your first session, did you know the threrapist etc
