I'm not sure how many of you have seen Global Metal by Sam Dunn which in a nutshell documents metal bands in various parts of the world one would not expect to find them. IE: United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, etc.
One of the better bands I came across are Orphaned Land from Israel, here's one of their better videos for those interested:

There are some good concert footage clips on YT also. I was wondering what other bands you guys are into which come from outside North America?
My ultimate favorite bands (outside of Seattle based Nevermore) hail from Scandinavia such as Children of Bodom from Finland, Communic from Norway and Opeth from Sweden. I'm interested to know other bands you all might be listrening to.

I used to be a huge fan of Dimmu Borgir when they first came out, saw them live in Toronto at a bar called the Kathedral and it was quite an enjoyable show. They opened up for Nevermore/Mercyful Fate I believe or it could have been one of the many lineups I've seen live. Memory fails at this late hour. Children of Bodom and In Flames are awesome although I believe In Flames best album is The Jester Race. Overkill is one of the classic thrash metal bands which never get old for me, love them since day ONE. Thanks for posting this list, I'll definitely have to check out the other bands you have listed. Oh and Arch Enemy are amazing, I've been a huge Michael Amott fan since Carcass. The only band which sticks out for me as one I do not like is DragonForce but each to their own yes. I wonder if you are also a Behemoth fan, the song Inner Sanctum has a guest appearance by Warrel Dane of Nevermore. Thanks for this list again, gives me more bands to check out. Cheers. )
Here's a link to the Behemoth song with Warrel Dane's guest appearance:

Can't miss Warrel's distinctive vocal style. -

Enisferum is another kinda viking style band like Amon Amoarth but differnt sound and style. I quite like Dragonlord hopefully they put out another album son as has been few yrs since last one.
devildriver lastest one Pray for Villans is a good one well worth the listen.

Dragonforce definitely sucks ass, they're even gayer than Nitro and that's pretty damn gay. -
