does anyone have a hard time eating leftovers?
Posted on 05/05/08, 04:48 pm
Most of the time I can't eat leftovers. I end up throwing them up. So I don't usually eat them anymore. I have a harder time with Chicken then beef too. Anyone else out there got strange things like this?

I can barely eat the food the first go round so I doubt I can eat it left over. As far as meat goes I can't eat anything but ground turkey breast and only very little of that. I do eat the boca meal starters in soups and chili. I think it is a TVP textured vegetable protein. -

I went to a support group last night and they were talking about throwing food back up. They were specifically talking about white-meat chicken. They pointed out that for some reason because it is more dry it has a tendency not to digest properly and the fact that we avoid drinking during mealtimes lessens the moistness. So it could be possible that leftovers are a little more dried out and therefore not easy to digest. If it doesn't feel good don't do it. -

I can't eat leftovers either. I've come to the conclusion that reheating them just makes them to dry. -

Its the dryness for me too. Some restaurants will serve 1/2 portions if you ask. -

I thought I was the only one suffering with that. I have notice that it is hard for me to get down most kinds of bread, pasta and other carbs...and dairy forget about it. -

I have a real hard time getting down restaurant cooked eggs...maybe because of the greasy taste from their grill/...my mom is the same way too...can't do greasy at all///THANKFULLY! we try to get away from those kind of foods anyway. -

I noticed that I am very sensitive to things that have been sitting the refridgerator. Maybe it has bacteria??? -

I have a hard time with leftover chicken also. I think it is because too dry. I have tried canned chicken and it is very moist. I eat a few bits for breakfast and some on my salad at lunch and it seems to be okay. It stays moist and goes down better than leftovers. When reheating leftover red meat, I cover it with plastic wrap and it seems to help maintain some of the liquids.
Hope this helps...works for me.
