Japanese Beetles
Posted on 09/18/09, 11:33 pm
It is approaching winter here so Japanese beetles arent quite a problem now but am worried about next year. I use spray from wal-mart but they dont kill nearly enough of them and am worried it is affecting my rose bushes. In a day; maybe three days they ate 90 percent of the biggest rose bush I have! And I do think they are Japanese Beetles if memory serves.

I have used a spray with baking soda and soap and water but that is it. It didnt really do much of anything but am COMPLETELY open to trying everything. -

Here in New York they are bad, the only thing we can do is put dish soap in a cup with water 1 tsp. to a cup of water and knock or pick them off into the soapy water and they drown. Good Luck!!!! -

I could try that. I do get so angry at the that violence might not be such a bad idea. ha ha. I also want something that isnt going to hurt the enviroment. Especially the bees. This year we had have a dozen or so flying around. It was good to see.

I know a lot of gardners here and I think it would be helpful to share stories and tips on different plants. So we all can have the garden of our dreams. After all gardening is good for the enviroment and good for the soul.
