I have several frogs and a hedgehog - the birds seem to have gone quiet but the insect population has increased. I'm glad to see lots of lady birds, friendly hover wasps , bumble bees - aphids of course and ants - the frogs and hedgehog are getting a great smogesborg of slugs and snails though :O)

We seem to have had lots of butterflies this year too - peacock, red admiral, blue butterfly :O) too many cabbage white that is for sure. And loads of hawk moth catterpillars and those bright green ones with horn on the rear end :O) gee they can be viscious when you try to remove them from the tree. -

Too many deer.... I don't mind if they munch on the apple tree, the apples aren't much good, except to make applesauce, but a few nights ago I had to chase one out of the veggie garden, fenced, but obviously not high enough. The next morning, half of my ripening Mr. Stripey tomatoes were gone... :(
We also have tadpoles and itty bitty frogs/toads in the little pond out front. It's been a blast watching their little legs start growing, and finally itty bitty frogs/toads, only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. There are lots of lizards, big & small.
For a while, we had a hawk that chose the power pole on the corner of the property as his morning spot to sit and talk to us, it usually started about 5:30 in the morning.
Any day now, the squirrels will be around a lot more, the walnut tree has started dropping walnuts. And this year there are tons of them, black walnuts, good for just munching, baking, mmmmmm! -

This year we had hummingbirds and loads of other little birds as well. I cheat and buy tadpoles in the spring so we can have frogs in our pond. I love watching them mature. We had chipmunks and squirrels. I'm in Pennsylvania, so no hedgehogs here :( but we do get opossum and skunks.
I think, the heavy rains this spring had an adverse affect on the butterflies and bumblebees, but the honeybees where here.
