First Memory

My family say i have a really good memory, if they all forget they come to me. I was asked once by a photographer who wanted to take some pictures of me and my friends what my first memory was, I was thinking so hard and all the time he was clicking away,. I had never been asked that question before.I thought hard and I could plainly see myself in a blue dress and matching head scarf all with little daisies on it. My mum and i were stood in front of a great big chest of drawers that belonged to my great grandmother and i looked all around me and saw tiny specks of glitter as a shaft of afternoon sun came through the window. it was the first time i saw dust in the air, highlighted by the sun.I was moving my hand through the air trying to catch the specks. My mum could remember it too when i told her. I think she was taken aback a little as i was or could have been younger than two., I wondered if anyone else can share their first memories .

  I remember standing beside a rocking chair outside and my mom telling me to take my little sisters hand.We were outside in the yard.I reached and held my baby sisters hand and looking at my mom as she said to look at her.She snapped a picture which I have today.I was about 2-1/2 years old,my sister was about 6 months old.

  The taste of cocoa. I apparently got a taste of hot chocolate, and seen where it came from and crawled up on the counter and stuck my hand in the cocoa...I can still remember the surprise of the dry bitter taste! LOL!

  I didn't know the taste of banana until I was 15. It tasted so good. Later, I ate a lot of banana. But I felt that the ones I had for the first time were the best.

  My best childhood friend since Kindergarten. Her name is Belinda. We spent many nights at each other's house, laughing, getting into silly accidents with toys, and being together in the same classes in school. I was 5 when I met my sweet friend.

  I love all these stories,and I thank you all so much and I thank Clay for asking us this question.You girls should have seen my smiles reading and using my imagination as I could just see each ones experience.

  A lovely memory: Riding on my mom's back as she crawled on her hands and knees around the living room. I was probably three years old.
  2. Watching my mom listen to the radio while knitting.
  3. Getting an Indian feather head-piece from a family friend.
