I learned this the hard way

This article pretty much says what anyone with any sort of disability faces, on a daily basis, and which is why I feel it is so important to pool resources, share insights and support each other. A sad fact that seldom makes it into the media is that there is so much which is "disabling." Domestic abuse, social or cultural limitation, discrimination, and society's need to have the newest, the best, and the shiniest of all things, even people. A wheechair, back brace, poor teeth, or social ineptitude due to shyness or lack of social skill, mental illness, or chronic health issues force so many people into little boxes, keep them living on inadequate social resources, and basically prevents them from getting out of the bottom of the pile. Too many people, when not allowed to contribute cease to attempt to do so.
