New hope for patients trying to escape the pain of Fibromyalgia. An all-natural approach is working for many in our area. Dr. Scott Birckbichler says, "It's a drug-free natural approach instead of taking pain medication for your entire life."
He has been treating fibromyalgia patients naturally for seven years. The Virginia Beach chiropractor says successful treatment starts with the spine.
Dr. Birckbichler says, "What chiropractic care does is try to realign your spine, put it back in place, take the tension off the nerves, and then everything takes care of itself."
A method doctor birckbichler says works best combined with stretching, exercise, massage, and simple stress relief. He says, "Just picture your heart rate going down, letting all the stress out of your body."
And watch what you eat! What to avoid? "Things that have a lot of aluminum in them, a lot of salt, anything that's going to dehydrate you -- smoking, obviously, caffeine, alcohol," explains Dr. Birckbichler.
He says that's because dehydrated muscles cause pain. And Dr. Birckbichler also has a list of vitamins and supplements that will help heal the body -- including Magnesium, Vitamin E, Vitamin B-6.
A whole body approach to treatment that he says gets real results. He says, "At least 90 percent of my patients that I've treated over the last 7 years have gotten at least half better. I'd say that's pretty enviable results for Fibromyalgia because it is a very misunderstood condition."
Dr. Birckbichler hosts a Fibromyalgia meeting at the virginia beach central library periodically. The next one will be in June. To reserve a spot -- call Dr. Birckbichler at 757-497-8200 or e-mail him at DRSCOTTBDC@YAHOO.COM.

I went to the chiro and it did help with the hip pain and movement. It is very logical this approach and I get mad because 14 years of Doctors, specialist, test, shots, study groups. pain and drugs and noone mentioned this. The problem I have is I cannot afford it. 26 visits a year and Blue Cross will not extend it. so it is now 4 days of no adjustments,. I do the exercises etc but going to the chiropractor does make sense. What do you do if you have no money and are waiting for SS to come in???? I really think everyone should look into this.
