Hi...Introductions!

Hi!

I'm TLCDaisy, and I am the Founder of this group. I have been wanting to start a Family/Friends of PTSD'ers for a long time...so here it is! I hope it suits all of the needs as a regular forum does!

I think it's great to have our supporters gather in an area of their own to share stories, advice and support...and get to know one another.

And, it's also nice for them to know that...HEY...They are NOT ALONE too! They can come here and be understood by many other supporters, and have a place to vent, share feelings, get and give advice.

I am a SA Survivor with PTSD. But, I created this group b/c my husband is on DS, and he has networked with a few other PTSD Supporters...and I think this is the perfect place for all the other supporters to 'hang out' and get to know one another...just like we do on the PTSD board!

So, Welcome...and I hope this Group can be as supportive as the PTSD Group is to all of us!

  Whoopee! It's finally here. Kudos to you, Daisy.
  
  I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, resulting from childhood sexual abuse, further aggravated by physical and psychological abuse. I also am a survivor of an abusive marriage. I'm also a recovering alcoholic, 13 years clean and sober.
  
  I've been in recovery for a long time, and although I still struggle with active PTSD symptoms at times, I will be more than happy to offer any support that I can in this community.

  Go Daisy,
  You know that I have been there with you trying to get this group together.
  For those who do not know I am the Husband of a SA victim who as a result also has been diagnosed with PTSD.
  I know of other supporters who have had to deal lone and know that this group will be a benifit to them all.
  It is always good to know there are people out there who understand what you live with.

  Daisy I can not begin to thank you enough for this. I really have tears in my eyes.. I know now when I have trouble trying to cope with my loved ones ever changing moods due to his PTSD I can come here and get all of the support I need. This is an Awesome Place..And I am so lucky to be a part of it..Big Hugs to you Daisy..You are always in my thoughts and Prayers..Keep the Faith...TDM

  WOW! I am so glad to see all the new members...and there are more coming...I can feel it!
  
  This Group is supposed to be visible as a Group under the Main PTSD Group. For some reason, it's not showing up? I have messaged DS about this issue...hopefully they can fix that.
  
  And, for some reason, I am unable to post a Group Hug...I get an error message?? I messaged about that also...
  
  So, here's One HUGE GROUP HUG to all our members, and our future members...This is the Group I have been dreaming of, and I know many of you have been dreaming of too.
  
  Soon, it will be filled with lots of resources, info and support and much more.
  
  Maybe DS will add a resources section, like in the main groups...I am going to suggest that.

  I support my BF and my mother, both of whom are SA survivors. I joined DS in November (I think) and am glad this group came around.

  Hi there, I have a older brother that suffers from PTSD as a result from Vietnam. Even though he has moved on, he still has some flashbacks. I guess I'm just trying to understand it a little more so that I feel more comfortable talking with him about it.

This is a group where family and friends of those with PTSD can gather support with one another and share advice...and much more. It is not easy living with and.or understanding our loved ones with PTSD...I hope this group can help make that easier!
