Hi Rhea, I am so sorry he was put on the list. But I have a feeling someday soon he will be off. People have to start realizing that putting everyone on this list is not doing any good.
And what great parents you are to hold your heads up high and not deny your son. I think when a real name, face and true story are put on these registry members it makes them more human to people not just some monsters that prey on children.

Well my son is now on the SO List.

Well my son is now on the SO List.
At work they were talking about it being in the paper don't know what was said or if it just listed his name and address. Hubby was asked it that was right next to us....he replied no, it was not. That it is our son!
Their mouths dropped, they said he had to be pulling their legs....so he explained the whole situation. Afterwards, they all understood and was sorry for their ill put jokes and he-hawing.
So we will see...it was only a handful of people there instead of the whole plant....so who know what will happen next.
So many people think courts are always correct....but when they hear his case they are amazed it ever was prosecuted....then they find out it was military.....and go ....Oh, they are so different....would have never gone that far if it had been cilvil......little do they know it happens all the time.
Watched a show last night called Say Uncle.......sad story of how a man that loved kids was chased and almost mobbed against until a few of his friends told the truth that the man was just missing his own godson (they moved to Japan) and he started hanging out at parks....all the kids loved him because he thought on their level....saw things their kid way....even when he was cautioned by his friend to watch himself.....he still acted innocently and was ostracized by starting with one woman and continued until many in the city was involved.
In the end this guy asked all there at the rally to ask their kids if Paul had ever hurt any of them, or if they were mad at him.....what turned the whole crowd around was that a boy spoke up to his father and said he was mad at Paul....for quit coming to the playground to play with them all!
I wonder how many men have been treated like this just because they loved kids! And saw the world in a whole different way just like a kid does.
Sometimes it starts out with someone just being cautious as a parent and going overboard and becoming unreasonable.
I hope many many people watched that movie last night!
I hope no one makes the mistake and thinks my son is a serial rapist or a sexual offender of kids.......what an awful world we sometimes live in and how someone just not having the right facts can end up trying to destroy someone innocent!
You and your loved ones will be in every prayer I offer up! Along with my son too!

I too am sorry to hear he was put on the list......although many people in my neighbourhood will not know that my dear hubby will be on the list here (because here the list is not made public) I feel that there will be people that find out anyways. I hope that I have to courage to stand up for myself and dear hubby as you did and not run.....

I know you are right Barbara. When anyone is different then they HAVE to be dangerous seems to be the way it goes....but with help educating ones maybe that can change!

Sorry Rhea about your son being on the list. When my husband can come home I will hold my head high and defend him always. We have said it over and over again, "Until it happens to them" need I say anymore. Take care, sorry Im not on DS much anymore. I have so much to do just to keep from losing my home. It's so hard to keep up with my husband away. Love and prayers to everyone...Cherri -

Cherri.......I am so sorry for the problems you are having with your making ends meet! I will be praying somehow an answer comes to you where the home is not at stake!
My worries may seem petty considering everything else......so sorry for that....just a mother worried over seemingly little stuff!

Do you know that they have the guys that are currently in prison even on the list in our state? I have no idea why they feel the need to list them even when they are there. So, my guy has officially been on the list since last August - even though his address is listed as the prison. On those "websites" though, they have included him as living at his parents' house - his last non-prison address. -
