I just clicked on and read the link on the homepage. About offenders having to wear a monitor so they can always be located and it made me think. Once my sentence is served, I'd be better off if I would have murdered someone. Society doesnt care if killers are in your neighborhood. Why hasnt this been addressed before somewhere? Or has it and I just never heard about it?

It is scary...It has been talked about, but I don't know that the "general public" gets it.

IT IS A SHAME THAT THEY SEE SO'S MORE DANGEROUS THAN MURDERERS!
Instead the murderers maybe that are SO's too would be more reasonable to keep track of......just a thought.

Or even help them get the counseling they all need would be even better!Help them overcome their issues so it does not happen again!

    Love and prayers!

I would take the monitor anyday just to get my husband home again. He would too. BUT....it's true you can murder someone and get a better deal, get out, and live next door and you would never know....Cherri

This has always pissed me off....If OUR guys must register, then every felon out there should have to register. I have always talked about this fact...I would want to know if a murderer or whatever lived on MY block! Drunk drivers are a BIG issue, too....(don't get me STARTED)

    Love to all, Barbara

And, i think once society does realize what is going on, there will be MORE cases of killing of victims so that they can have a "lesser sentence."

I agree with you all......the monitor system is not here in Canada that I know of but, it is used for all sorts of other crimes when it comes to house arrest, including sex crimes. Hubby lawyer asked for the package with the judge at our last court date so that the judge would consider house arrest (not normally given for these types of charges) I know of a guy that had it on for 1 yr for DUI and another guy for assault w/ a weapon. Our lawyer does not think that hubby will get the monitoring system but, wanted the judge to know that this is yet another thing that hubby would abide by....... so we had to get a land line (we have VOIP) and pay for if for the past 2 months and another 3 months to see if hubby even gets the monitor.......

Eddie's attorney told him that Eddie would have been better off killing the child....Eddie was shocked in that statement as he is an INNOCENT MAN!

Talk about malpractice from a lawyer! (First of all, if the client SAYS their innocent, aren't they supposed to support that; and then to even mention a hypothetical that way is just preposterous!)

I dont know about the monitor once they have served there time but I know when my bf was going through his trial, he was on a GPS teather from the time I bailed him out of jail until the time he was sentanced. He wore that thing for a total of 111 days and still got sentanced to 8 months in jail. When he was on the teather we had to pay $600 to get it put on and then $465 a month, if we missed a payment he would have been put back in jail. He also had to call into the teather company once a week and could only go to work, court, and his counseling. I agree, they definaltely treat SO like the scum of the earth, mass murders and rapists dont even get treated half as bad as SO. Its pretty pathetic if you asked me and something needs to change!

DENNIS HAD TO WEAR ONE UNTILL HIS COURT DATE BUT IT ONLY COST HIM $100. A MONTH I WOULD RATHER HIM WEAR ONE AND BE HOME. WE GOT 7 MORE YEARS TO GO BEFORE HE CAN COME HOME.

Welcome
