spring turkey

spring turkey is 1 1/2 day away and i saw 15 birds in the field yesterday morning. a couple of struters in that group!!!! i`m so pumped, my son has first crack at a bird then i`m second. that would make my year. will keep everyone up to date. how are all you other turkey hunters doing so far?

I was not able to get out, but my son did get 1. I seen some coming home from the Dr Friday along the road. They were young ones but had those feathers all ruffled....hehehe.

vacation for a week of turkey hunting. trying near home first, going to camp for R & R after hunting sat am. good luck to all and be safe.

LAST SAT. MY SON WENT WITH MY COUSIN AND ANOTHER FRIEND, THEY CALLED IN 4 JAKES AND ONE LONGBEARD. THE GUYS KEPT TELLING MY SON TO SHOOT. HE JUST SAT THERE WITH THE GUN READY BUT DIDN`T SEE THE BEARD, SO HE DIDN`T SHOOT. I DIDN`T SHOOT EITHER, ALTHOUGH I SAW ONE. -

last weekend coming up. birds - 1 me - 0. still i`ll try. have seen and heard them, but none close enough. had a doe last weekend walk by me at 10 feet. didn`t spook untill she caught my scent. -

last day was eventful as my son and i watched a coyote, a racoon and a couple of deer. oh yea, and two turkeys, a hen and a jake. the jake was between me and him so there was no shot.
