Hey there,
I also did one round of Lupron Shots. I had 1 shot a month for 6 months. The higher dose made me very sick. I have heard it working for some people but, for me it didn't help at all. I ended up having to have another Lap 4 months into treatment. They found tons more when they went back in. Iam sorry you have to go through this at such a young age. Keep your head up... -

They didnt find out for me until I was 23, now I am 30. I have been having to deal with it too..My husband and I have come to realize there arent many things we can do other then take Lupron. We are completely against Lupron. I personally think it's silly to take lupron if you want to have kids because otherwise you'll need fertility drugs..which the changes are high enough without having to take it. This is probably the worst it could get..I would suggest even though you can have a lot of symptoms with it, continuously take birth control pills..Even though i feel much better, but my symptoms are getting worst because i have nothing controling the condition. I have realized a small dosage for a long period of time helps..a lot..In fact, it stopped my condition getting worst and stopped my cyst from growing for now. We may not be ready to have a child right now, but i realize i have waiting as long as i can with this condition. -

So you've never been on Lupron right? Well how long you'll be on depends on your Doc recommendations, I've been on twice, when I was first diagnosed I was on for 5 months one shot a month, then just this summer for 3 months one shot a month. But they were totally different circumstances, the first time I was in severe pain and had a TON of crap inside me causing all sorts of trouble, then second time I had been trying to conceive for almost 2 yrs and we'd been watching it build back up and it was now causing trouble. It seems like in best of cases 3-6 months is needed, but I have heard of those who are on longer. -

I was on Lupron for 12 months at the age of 17 after having my 3rd lap surgery. The side effects were terrible but it really did help. My problem now is trying to reverse what the lupron did since my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I go to the doctor this month to talk about my options. It really bites having to deal with this disease for anyone but it makes your decision making even more difficult when you haven't had children and REALLY want them! Good luck and God bless. -

Well I am on Lupron now and I am 17. The side effects are horrible I wouldnt recommend it since I didnt really see a result Ive been on them for 3 months and now I have to have surgery on tuesday =[.
So I was reading the comments, Can Luupron really create problems having a baby, I know the endo does, but I am getting married next year and in 3 years after nursing school we want to start a family is it really that hard after lupron cuz I dont really want to take fertility treatments and me and my bf being the next Branden and Cate plus 8 lol. -

Getting pregnant with endo is difficult enough, but it can be done. :) The lupron basically causes what they call "medically induced menopause". A lot of women are able to reverse themselves when they get off of lupron. Their bodies will naturally start having periods again, though irregular at first. Sometimes taking birth control after lupron will help get you back on the right track. My body didn't reverse itself for over a year. Started taking the birth control...now I'm having periods but not ovulating. You have lots of options. I didn't want to take fertility meds either but after talking to my doctor I realized they aren't so bad. I started taking Clomid yesterday. That is a pretty cheap one that only has a 7 - 10% chance of causing twins. You are more likely to have multiple births with other fertility meds, IUF, or IVF. Hope your surgery went well. -

Ok... the truth is that Lupron, thought it has side effects, is one of the greatest drugs out there! If BCP doesnt work, that is the second best bet..... It is SOOOOOOOOOOO much better than Danazol, which is what they used before Lupron, The Side effects with lupron are doubled and the achne comes back.... :(
If you had success with Lupron my advice would be to stick with it..... -

I am on danazol now and the side effects are def tough, but i am at least not in pain!! The Depo did NOT help the pain and made me a manic! I have just heard that being on the Depo Lupron for an extended amount of time can cause permanent bone density problems and with women being so prone to osteoporosis...
Im 21 as well and the side effects im having with the danazol are basically menopause. Ha thats the best way to sum it up. But im gonna live with it cuz i feel sooo much better!! Good luck! -

I just had my first lap two weeks ago. I have a 3 week follow up appt where my doc wants to discuss beginning lupron with me. I'm just not sure it's something I want to do. I feel confused, because we are trying to conceive and the thought of postponing that to take these injections and become "menopausal" is scary. This whole situation is overwhelming.
