Hi everybody,

I found this to be so helpful after my IVF transfer....I've seen it on about 4 websites and they all are pretty consistent. Maybe this will give you some comfort or extra information to focus on (ha!) during your two week wait.

A much easier to read version is on this website: http://fertility.med.nyu.edu/ivf/em...

3-Day Transfer
Days Past Transfer (DPT) Embryo Development
One The embryo continues to grow and develop, turning from a 6-8 cell embryo into a morulaTwo The cells of the morula continue to divide, developing into a blastocyst
Three The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell
Four The blastocyst continues to hatch, begins to attach to the uterus
Five blastocyst attaches deeper, beginning implantation
Six Implantation continues
Seven Implantation is complete
Eight (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream
Nine Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Ten Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Eleven Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

5-Day Transfer
Days Past Transfer (DPT) Embryo Development
One The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell
Two blastocyst continues to hatch, begins to attach to the uterus
Three blastocyst attaches deeper, implantation begins
Four Implantation continues
Five Implantation is complete
Six (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream
Seven Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Eight Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Nine Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

Thank you so much for this information. I will definitely be using it after our transfer! The more information I have the better I feel so this will be wonderful knowing what is going on.

I wonder if this timeline is the same for frozen embryos? I have heard (and am hopeing)they take a little longer.
