tjmv12, I've never experienced this. I live next door to my sisters so all out dogs a mainly under 1 roof. 3 bordercolies, 1 golden/border, and now 2 siberian puppies plus 3 cats. Everyone gets along really well.
The only thing I can think of is that the your origional female feels threatened by this new one. And is trying to eliminate her. I would ask your vet. Maybe there is a way to get around not having to give one up.
I wish you luck. Please keep us informed on what you decide.
Hugs Nancy

My dogs are fighting, what can I do?

Does anyone have experience in dealing with their dogs fighting? I'm afraid I may have to get rid of one and its pretty much unheard of to me to get rid of a pet. My heart is hurting so bad I don't know if I can or how I can without regreting it and being devatated by this for the rest of my life. I have never gotten rid of a pet.
My husband adopted a female, age 3 last year. 4 mos later a friend was planning to take her dog to the pound as her daughter was in the hospital a lot (she had only adopted her from a family with economic issues 3 mos earlier). I also have a 1 yr old male. Anyway, this new dog - I could not let her go to a pound so I took her in. She was also 4, just like my other female. She is a black lab. My other female is a lab mix. Anyway, in the last month they have had 4 fights, 2 just today and this last one left a puncture wound and my husband is now on the way to the emergency vet with her. I don't know how to stop it. He says one has to go. I have owned dogs my entire life and never had this happen before, but never had 2 of the same sex and also the same age at the same time.

we had 2 dogs, we had them for years and they just out of the blue started a fight and from then on every other week or so they fought. one was a chiwawa (sorry can not spell) that was 15 years old. and the other a poodle that was 8 years old.
in the fist fight. i thrue one, one way and the other one the other way. and yeld up one end and down the other the first time. and i worked for a month. and then we would watch them and guss what they would do next.
i heard and i have tryed this it semes to work, that if you walk them to gether and have them do thing to gether like pull a cart or somthing. they will get along better.
hope this helps:)
