If you have not already done so please consider the following request and write and or fax Mr. Goodell of the NFL regarding his consideration for Michael Vick to be reinstated in the NFL. The contact info is supplied as well as a sample letter.

Other points that could also be addressed are: Vick has never apologized nor shown any remorse for what he did to these animals his apologies were solely addressed to family and fans, he did not serve his sentence for any animal cruelty charges but rather for Federal racketeering (gambling), he tried to use his "repentance" with an agreement with PETA that eventually they saw through and spoke against him, and as importantly, not only is it fitting that he not be allowed to return to his glamorous "star athlete" position and lifestyle, but if allowed to do so it will send a message throughout the Dog Fighting World that this crime is really not taken all that seriously and not much will happen to those who engage in this activity.

No matter what our different rescue viewpoints may be, this is one issue where we all need to work together and to act. I beg you to both take the time, even in your busy and hectic r lives, to write and or fax and to also pass this on and urge everyone you know to do the same.

Statistics indicate that hard copy written communication is far more effective in conveying one's personal opinion and intent than just a signed petition. Even if you have already signed a petition regarding this please write or fax. Thank you for your consideration, time and interest. Speak for the animals, we are their voice, their power, their salvation.

Good Morning Animal Lovers,

I will make this very short and to the point, I am asking you to write a letter. As most of us know, Mr. Michael Vick was released from prison in May to serve the rest of his short sentence under house arrest in his million dollar mansion. To those of us that have followed the case, this sentence is a slap on the wrist for what he has done. His absolute cruelty went above and beyond any thing I have heard of in years. Mr. Vick did not just kill dogs, he did it in a horrific manor, choosing the most painful ways imaginable as a form of enjoyment. I wont go into the details, but I will say this deserves ten minutes of your time and a stamp. Mr. Vick has a meeting scheduled to ask for reinstatement to the NFL. Please write to the NFL to re-enforce our desire to never see this man play professional football again. Contact info is as follows:

Here is a sample letter I composed, but feel free to follow your heart. Keep it short and to the point, use no foul language in the hopes that your letter will be read, not trashed. Thank you for your help.

Dear Sir:

I for one oppose the reinstatement of Michael Vick into the NFL. Many in the public believe Mr. Vick did not receive adequate punishment for the crimes he committed. I cannot help but believe a lesser known person would have faced not only Federal racketeering and gambling charges but also many counts of animal cruelty. This is not Mr. Vick�s first problem with the law. In the past he has �found religion� to gain approval and garner a lesser sentence. I urge you to see that Michael Vick receives the punishment he is due, to be banned permanently from professional football.
