Tip of the Iceburg

When I first founded this group I had the naive idea that positive thinking and positive attitude was just about deciding to view the world in a positive way and set about giving positive advice about how we can think and positive affirmations where we say positive things about ourselves.
That was then and this is now. I now understand that while having a positive attitude is just a choice simply that, it will only work for periods where we concentrate our efforts because part of us our critical voice simply tells us that the nice things we say about areselves are not true.
Next came the realisation that all positive attitude was simply an illusion until I really faced my fears so yhis is what I did, I faced my fears of:
Failure
Future events
Shame
Dissaproval
and many more
Fortunately I had a period of time away from my normal routine of life and I really believed I was reaching a point of inner peace but then I returned to my normal routine and guess what happened, my new inner peace simply evaporated.
Now I understand the truth, I had only worked at the concious level of my mind, the subconcious and unconcious levels were unaffected.
The truth is that the mind is like an iceburg with 90% below the surface (subconcious and unconcious) and only 10% above the sueface,( the concious mind).
I had then the hurculean task of reprogramming the 90% with only 10% concious thinking so how do I go about this?
The answers are:
1. Self knowledge - from visiting childhood experiances
2. Self awareness - by learning to look at myself and my reactions in a more objective way
3. Self actualization - by having the courage to test you behaviors, habits and ways of living, on the world
As time progresses I am beginning to see permanent modifications in the way that I think and act that result in a more positive presentation to the world.
You may ask what is the most important factor in starting to make lasting improvements to how I think and I would say with deep and resounding certainty, ACCEPTANCE.
